A. SPECIFICATIONS FOR MOISTURE TESTING (1). MOISTURE TEST a. Calcium chloride moisture tests shall be done by an independent agency approved by the State of California funded and secured by the Contractor. All testing must be done by a company with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the flooring testing and inspection business. A minimum of three (3) test kits shall be required for the first 1,000 square feet and an additional test kit for every 1,000 square feet thereafter for each project. All test results must be reviewed and approved by the DMV Project Manager prior to the start of any installation. (2). MISCELLANEOUS: a. Other items that shall be included in the installation process are: 1. The Contractor shall replace all required electric covers (pothead covers) and Walker Duct covers in conjunction with flooring installation. 2. Labor for unloading of furniture, dismantling equipment and removing/replacing earthquake fastening hardware as necessary for installation. 3. The Contractor shall be required to provide Negative Air Machines (Air Scrubbers) to be run during the installation and twenty-four (24) hours after the installation in order to alleviate odors, fumes, and particles suspended in the air. The Negative Air Machines used must have carbon filters and be able to filter no less than 1,500 cubic feet per minute. Furthermore, the Contractor shall be required to provide an adequate number of Negative Air Machines for the cubic feet in regard to this specific project. Negative Air Machines shall be Aerospace America Model 9180 with carbon filter or pre-approval equal. B. INSTALLATION OF CONCRETE MOISTURE BARRIER (IF APPLICABLE) (1). The following section is applicable to this project as a result of high moisture vapor emissions. Calcium chloride moisture tests shall be done by an independent agency approved by the State of California. All testing must be done by a company with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the flooring testing and inspection business. The Contractor is responsible for all costs involved with vapor emission control and compliance. a. QUALITY ASSURANCE 1. Installer/applicator shall have a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in the application of topically applied resin type moisture vapor control products, as the Manufacturer's employed personnel. 2. Manufacturer shall verify a ten (10) year history of producing/distributing resin type moisture vapor control products. 3. Manufacturer shall also provide five (5) verifiable treatment installations successfully completed for a minimum of six (6) years prior to this bid date. 4. Manufacturer’s warranty must comply with the requirements outlined herein.
