Richard Hall Community Health & Wellness Center, a division of the County of Somerset, New Jersey, requires an Equine Assisted Therapist Program for clients enrolled in the Center’s Reach 4 Recovery (R4R) and STAR Program. The objective of the programs is to enhance recovery oriented coping skills, connect individuals with community based recovery supports, establish and enhance sober networks, understand personal recovery goals, help identify participant’s strengths, teach acceptance of responsibility and accountability for choices and behavior, link participants to formal recovery supports, build public transportation knowledge, assist individual’s and their families with psychoeducation on co-occurring disorders, encourage individuals to increase their participation in the eight dimensions of wellness and build a strong and positive perception of self.
