Portland Cement: Must meet the requirements of AASNTD M85 and must meet the low alkali and the false set requirements of that specification. 4.2.3 Type I or Type II Portland Cement shall be used for all Portland cement concrete, 4000 psi 7-bag mix. Type I or II Portland Cement, an 8-bag mix of high early strength with 2% calcium, shall be used for 5000 psi. 4.2.4 Different brands of cement, different types of cement, or the same brand of cement, but from different mills, shall not be mixed or placed in the same storage bin. 4.2.5 All mixes shall be in accordance with the 1983 edition of the Standard Specification for Construction of Roads and Bridges as published by the Department of Transportation or an updated version. Depending on the slump requested for the specific job, water added shall be 65 gallons (541 pounds) for a six-inch slump, to 55 gallons (458 pounds) for a three (3) inch slump.
