It is the intention of these specifications to provide personal care assistance program for up to forty (40) hours per week of routine, non-medical personal care assistance to adults with permanent physical disabilities. These individuals shall be eighteen (18) years of age or older, employed, preparing for employment, attending school, or involved in community volunteer work. These individuals shall also be able to self-direct their own services. Personal Assistance Services Program (PASP) offers participants choice, flexibility, control and the opportunity to self-direct their personal care services through the use of a monthly budget. Through the development of a Cash Management Plan (CMP), participants determine how their monthly budget will be used to support their needs. Budgets can be used to hire private employees or purchase services through an agency; and to purchase home or vehicle modifications, supplies, and/or equipment to enhance independence.
