The Project consists an instructional building to serve the needs of the Commercial Truck Driving program. Primary usage will add extra capabilities to the existing driving range which will allow instructors more efficient usage of class time. Currently, the nearest instructional space and access to tools or restrooms is 1,000 feet away. The new facility is anticipated to be approximately 4,000 sq.ft. of interior space to include: -One Large Classroom -Two unisex restrooms with interior and exterior access -Two office spaces -Space for a Commercial Truck Driving Simulator The new facility is also expected to include approximately 2,000 sq.ft. of covered exterior space: -Allow for pre-trip inspection training in any weather condition -Secure storage space for tools and equipment Secondary usage of the facility would include instructional space for the College’s partnerships with: -Fire Science program meetings relating to controlled-burn training -Local law enforcement agencies who use the CDL pad for vehicle maneuver training -Additional local government agencies who use the CDL pad and adjacent areas for equipment training
