1. Preparation of surfaces: Prior to filling cracks, clean existing bituminous surfacing of loose and foreign materials and coat with a film of asphalt emulsion. 2. 2” Full width grind of Existing Surface: a. Complete area shall be grind down 2” full width of existing area (contractor to field verify square footage) i LGAM: Area A – 53,500sqft / Area B – 24,800 sqft ii VLMA: Area A – 21,300sqft / Area B – 22,250 sqft iii San Miguel: Area A – 27,000sqft b. Install 1” hot mix asphalt with paving machinery to the same area to provide leveling a course. c. Install 1” hot mix asphalt with paving machinery to the same area. d. Compact ALL new asphalt surface with vibratory equipment and machine rollers to maximum compaction. e. Fill cracks ½ inch wide and less with RS-1 emulsion and silica sand or other required material. Cracks large than ½ inch wide shall be filled with Type C2 Asphalt concrete as specified. Cracks shall be filled to the level of adjacent surfacing.
