Sealed proposals are requested by the San Antonio Water System for the rehabilitation of a 5.0 Million Gallon Steel Ground Storage Tank for the 34th Street Ground Storage Tank Rehabilitation Project, SAWS Job No. 23-0108. The rehabilitation of an existing 5.0 MG potable water ground storage tank (GST) includes corrosion repairs as well as surface preparation and coating application on the interior and exterior. Spot repairs of corrosion will be required on the interior of the GST. Structural components such as the crows nest and roof rafters will be required to be replaced. The existing coating will be abrasive blasted and recoated. Miscellaneous welding improvements to the GST will be required, including replacing the center and perimeter vents, replacing roof hatches and frames, installation of handrailing around the tank perimeter with ladder platform at the exterior tank ladder dismount. Rehabilitation will also include the replacement of two interior ladder, modification to the existing overflow piping, weir box, and overflow drainage structure. The existing piping including the overflow piping and inlet/outlet piping, and interior handrail piping shall be cleaned and recoated. Miscellaneous electrical modifications will be required during construction including the removal and reinstallation of the existing cathodic protection system and level probes instruments.
