The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit proposals from a qualified Vendor to dismantle, relocate, and reassemble the Robeson House and Purvis Cabin within the Chronos Gallery of the North Carolina Museum of History (“NCMOH”) as part of the expansion of the museum. The North Carolina Museum of History is part of the State Archives and History Division within North Carolina’s Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. The primary purpose of the museum is to collect and preserve artifacts and other historical materials relating to the history and heritage of North Carolina in a local, regional, national, and international context to assist people in understanding how the past influences the present. Because of renovation work at the NC Museum of History, there is a need to partially dismantle two structures (a 1740s house and an 1860s log cabin) that are inside a museum gallery on the lobby level of the museum, relocate them to a new location inside the same gallery, and reassemble to the appearance of before the move . The intent of this solicitation is to award an Agency Contract.
