The intent of this specification is to obtain a followspot system with high-quality lighting capabilities and specific features, with maximum ease-of-use and reliability for the wide variety of functions at the Concert Hall. All followspots and accessories are to be manufactured by Lycian Stage Lighting or approved substitute. The followspots shall be in strict accordance to Foot Candle (FC) rating as herein specified or approved substitute. The following are minimum specifications: A. Make/Model 1. Lycian 1295-ELT or approved substitute B. Frame/Mount 1. The unit frame and enclosure shall be constructed of cold rolled steel and sturdy aluminum extrusions, free of burrs and protected by a gray and black powder coat finish. 2. The unit may be manufactured from interchangeable lens modules and delivered pre-configured as long as unit can meet the requirements of 3 degree to 7 degree beam spread and stand requirements. The unit may be ordered with medium or long throw lens modules. 3. The unit shall be mounted on a stable, three-legged tripod stand or folding fourlegged stand with adjustable yoke mounts. If unit has casters, bases shall include locking casters and leveling jacks for each leg. 4. Mounting shall incorporate the following design features: i. Unobstructed access ii. Easy height adjustments iii. Horizontal pan knob and vertical tilt control levers 5. Mounting shall incorporate low friction materials to allow for smooth pan and tilt operation. 6. The exterior body or stand must contain rigging points or eye-bolts to secure unit to safety points. These points must be able to bear the full weight of the followspot. C. Controls/Cooling 1. The lamphouse shall incorporate the following: i. Quiet forced-air cooling by internally wired fan blower or highly efficient multi-zone cooling with oversized lamp holder heat-sinks or equivalent. 2. Bulb operation elapsed hour meter or of equal diagnostics readout on the unit. 3. On/Off ignition controls by pushbutton or switch located on follow spot body. Units with On/Off controls located only on remote power supply shall be unacceptable. 4. Followspot lamp must be able to be optimized for full brightness during lamp installation process. If followspots have adjustable lamp fields, then units must be able to adjust lamp’s focal position relative to the reflector in three dimensions. 5. Mounted safety switch that turns the unit off when the hood is removed. 6. The body of the unit shall incorporate the following: i. Rigidly mounted automatic self-canceling six color boomerang. ii. Exterior controls for adjustments to zoom, focus, dim, iris, choppers, shutters and frost filter. iii. A six color, automatic, self-canceling boomerang which shall include an easily removable access panel.
