Respondent must be an Attorney licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey that wishes to provide Special Counsel and Litigation Services to the City of Hackensack with regard to all legal matters related to Redevelopment, as directed by the City Attorney, the Mayor and Council, or other appropriate Official within the City of Hackensack. Respondent must have significant experience in representing New Jersey Municipalities and/or other Public Entities in Redevelopment matters. The Successful Respondent will provide the City of Hackensack with legal guidance relating to Redevelopment, including but not necessarily limited to: attending meetings of the Council; drafting ordinances and resolutions as directed by the Manager or the majority of the Members of the Council; give opinions and rulings on questions of Redevelopment law that may arise at Council meetings at the request of a majority of the Members of the Council or the City Manager; prepare and approve all legal instruments relating to Redevelopment within the City of Hackensack; represent the City of Hackensack in any Redevelopment related litigation; conduct trials, appeals, and other proceedings affecting the interest of the City of Hackensack as he or she may in his or her discretion determine to be necessary or desirable, subject to the approval of the Council; and, any other matters as directed by the City of Hackensack.
