1. Strategic Planning • Collaborate with the Director of Communications to develop and implement a comprehensive media and public engagement strategy. • Create an annual communications calendar to support the City’s goals and objectives. 2. Content Creation • Draft high-quality written materials including press releases, talking points, newsletters, website copy, and email communications. • Develop messaging for both proactive and reactive communications needs. 3. Social Media & Digital Content Creation • Produce engaging social media content (graphics, infographics, short videos, etc.). • Monitor, manage, and engage with audiences across official City social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter). • Grow the City’s digital footprint and optimize reach to targeted audiences. 4. Event Planning & Promotion • Support the planning, promotion, and logistical execution of press conferences, community events, and stakeholder engagements. • Perform event set-up, on-site support, and post-event breakdown, as needed. 5. Website Content Support • Assist in ensuring website content is accurate, accessible, and up to date. • Work with staff to update and maintain online information relevant to residents, stakeholders, and media.
