Top of Wall Firestop installation at Berea Elementary School. Approximately, 3,600 Linear Feet of existing cementitious fireproofing and existing, loose, mineral wool insulation at Top of Wall to be removed. Walls are to be cleaned; new compressed, mineral wool insulation inserted into flutes of the roof deck. Hilti firestop joint spray or an approved equal to be applied over newly installed mineral wool insulation. Firestop joint shall be installed according to UL Top of Wall Assembly System. The General Contractor must employ a licensed and certified Firestop Installer to install firestop. The General Contractor must contact Greenville’s County School’s Third Party Special Inspector to perform inspection of the new installed firestop. An Add Alternate is included in this project to install new acoustic ceiling tile equivalent to Armstrong #1728 Fine Fissued Lay-in 2x2 Tile in the corridors only; approximately 13,656 SF. This project is slated to begin May 27, 2025 and completed on August 1, 2025. Due to occupancy of the building and time restraints; the project will be broken into phases.
