This contract is for annual needs of removal and proper disposal of dead animals, trash bags, and/or debris from litter collection efforts on State Highways in Durham County and removal and proper disposal of dead animals and debris on the Triangle Expressway in Durham and Wake County. The Contractor will patrol designated routes in Durham County on a weekly schedule as per the contract, in conjunction with notifications for Durham County from the Engineer on dead animal, debris, and /or trash bag pickup locations on remaining Durham County Routes not covered by the patrols. The Contractor will remove and properly dispose of dead animals and debris with notifications from the Engineer on dead animal and debris locations on the Triangle Expressway. The Contractor will be responsible for properly disposing of all dead animals, debris and trash bags collected. All work and materials shall be in accordance with the provisions of the General Guidelines of this contract, the Project Special Provisions, the North Carolina Department of Transportation 2024 Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures, the North Carolina Department of Transportation 2024 Roadway Standards Drawings, and the current edition of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), with the exception that bid bonds are not required. The Contractor shall keep himself fully informed of all Federal, State, and local laws, ordinances, and regulations, and shall comply with the provisions of Section 107 of the 2024 Standard Specifications.
