Thewaterserviceline serving7171GeorgeWashingtonMemorialHighwayhas a leakand needsto be replacedwith a newtapping saddle, corporationstop,waterservice line,tracer wire, andmeterstop.Itis possible thatthemeter boxwill need to be replaced aswellfor this project.Thisservice line is connected to a 12-inchDuctile Ironwatermain thatis acrossRoute 17 in the south bound lane atthe intersection to FoxFirst Street andRoute 17. Project Objectives: • Coordinate road closures and excavation plans with all utility owners, Gloucester Public Utilities, Dominion Power,Verizon and VDOT, etc. • Obtain allrequiredCounty and state permits • Enter lane closure plans into VDOT LCAMs and VA Traffic systems a minimumof aweek priorto the scheduled lane closure • No watershuts offshall be allowed before 10pm forthisprojectnorlast past 4aminthemorning. • Coordinatework activitieswith local property owners as necessary • Provide traffic control so work can be done safely in both Fox First StreetandRoute17 • Preform the replacement of the existing 12-inch tapping saddle, corporation stop, 1” service line, meter stop, and 2” sleeve all with continuoustracerwire. • Install a newstainless-steelsleeve forthe service line • Backfill and compact excavation, reconnect/replace all utilities, power, communications and any otherutilitiesthatmay havebeen removed during construction, pave and stripe the road as necessary • Open to traffic
