GOAL: IDNR is seeking a Vendor to operate a kayak concession at the Argyle Lake located in Argyle Lake State Park in Colchester, Illinois. Through IDNR programs and in conjunction with the Vendor, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources seeks to improve overall visitor satisfaction by ensuring high quality visitor services while broadening the economic base of the region and the communities of the surrounding parks. SUPPLIES AND/OR SERVICES REQUIRED: Vendor shall be required to have the concession operation open to the public for the purpose of serving guests at the Argyle Lake kayak launch as per the hours/dates listed in Section 1.4.1. The Vendor must offer kayak rentals. The Vendor must provide Personal Flotation Devices (PDF’s) as well as safety instructions prior to customers entering the water. AUTHORIZED SUPPLIES AND/OR SERVICES: The Vendor at Argyle State Park will be authorized to charge a rental fee for kayak, canoe, and peddle boat rentals. The Vendor is also authorized to sell non-alcoholic beverages (nothing in glass containers), souvenirs, novelties, post cards, photographs, and kayaking apparel & equipment. The Site Superintendent and/or Concession Manager have absolute discretion to approve the types, items and quality of all merchandise sold and services rendered at the concession.
