Contractor shall provide on call service pick-ups when requested. Contractor service days shall be Monday through Friday, only on Saturdays during the weeks when holidays occur or in times of severe weather disrupting service. Contractor shall recognize six (6) major holidays – New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Contractor shall exercise reasonable care and thoroughness when collecting acceptable solid waste with every effort not to spill, scatter, or drop materials. If an event as described happens during collection, the operator shall immediately clean up the materials, place in the container, and dump the container. Additions or deletions of buildings or changes in container sizes must be approved by the Facilities Management Department. Town will not guarantee any minimum or maximum quantities of waste. It is possible within a year or two, the Goodwin Elementary School and Vinton Elementary School may not need pickups or equipment as the schools will be closing due to a new elementary school currently being built on the Southeast Elementary School site. Contractor shall secure any permits, if needed, for the disposal of items collected. Contractor shall dispose of acceptable items the day they are collected unless approved by the Town. Under no circumstances shall the Contractor combine materials collected under this contract with materials obtained from other customers of the Contractor. The Town shall be responsible for the tipping fees assessed by the disposal facility. Contractor hall provide a local calling telephone or “800” number that is staffed during normal collection days and hours. The Contractor shall be responsible for receiving inquiries, service requests/changes and billing. Contractor shall provide monthly billing to the Town’s Finance Department for both town buildings and schools.
