To replace portion of asphalt/brick walkway (Gate Z1 to VC/Penguin overlook/Lion habitat) with new asphalt pavement. Requirements: • labor, materials, and equipment to remove and dispose of existing asphalt and bricks (approx. 900 SY). • Excavate and place 10” stone base in an area of approximately 40 SY to eliminate interior landscape area. • Fine grade, water and compact the existing base in an area of approximately 900 SY in the asphalt and brick area of the trail. • Construct a single-course 2” compacted average depth asphalt pavement on an area of approximately 900 SY to repave the asphalt and brick portion of the trail. • Perform landscape restoration adjacent to the new asphalt including grading, seeding, and maintaining erosion control measures until turf is established. • Contractor is responsible for proper erosion control measures during project. • Contractor is responsible for blocking off and signing work area to ensure no accidental public access. • Contractor is responsible for cleaning roadways/walkways of mud/dust/debris generated during project. • Contractor must coordinate with Zoo staff to perform work between the hours of 7am – 7pm • Project is to be completed in 2025
