The City of Somerville is seeking proposals from qualified vendors for full-range investigative services for preemployment Public Safety background investigations and occasional employee investigations as required for the City of Somerville. At times, investigations may also be conducted during the course of employment. All information collected during the course of the investigations is to be kept confidential. The scope of work may include some or all of the following, depending on the specific hiring process or investigation. The successful proposer may need to employ a combination of interviews, document review, surveillance, and electronic data collection on any specific investigation: • Family Background- A ten+ year address history and confirmation of anyone who has shared an address with the applicant which would include associates and relatives. • Residency- Within last ten years to be verified through such documentation as leases or sale documents, car registrations, utility bills, voting records, etc. Specific scrutiny to be given to the one year prior to the date of the exam. • Home Visit- Site visit to home to verify residence and ascertain character of individual and verify family composition.
