A. The Contractor shall furnish and install a Systems Backup and Data Protection Solution. The solution must safeguard valuable data and systems against various threats, enabling quick recovery and business continuity in the event of data loss or damage. This will ensure that the City of Thomasville can continue to operate smoothly even in the face of unexpected disruptions. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS A. The proposed system must support backup and recovery for the following environments: • VIRTUAL MACHINES o VMware vCenter and/or Hyper-V environments o Image-based and file-level backup options o Full VM restoration, failover testing • PHYSICAL SERVERS AND FILE SYSTEMS o Windows and Linux server backup o Incremental and full backup options o Support for system state and bare-metal recovery • MICROSOFT 365 SUITE o Exchange Online (mailboxes, contacts, calendars, etc.) o OneDrive for Business o SharePoint online o Microsoft Teams (including chat, files, and site data) o Granular restore capabilities FEATURES AND FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS A. Vendor must deliver a program that includes: • Centralized management console (cloud-based or hybrid) • Secure and encrypted storage (at rest and in transit) • Backup policy automation and version control • Multiple backup jobs running at the same time • Ability to use on-premise storage cluster • Configurable retention policies per department • Role-based access controls (RBAC) • Multi-tenant or multi-department support • Email alerts, audit logging, and reporting • Disaster recovery readiness features (e.g., test restores, failover capability) • Data sovereignty compliance (U.S. data centers only) • Integration with existing authentication (e.g., Microsoft Entra ID / Active Directory)
