Aligned with the Mayor’s overall vision for the future, SHIFT305 is the strategy for DTPW to accelerate progress towards four transportation system goals - safety, sustainability, efficiency, and connectivity. The FCA is tied to meeting these ambitious goals. DTPW expects the FCA to meet the following high-level objectives to enhance efficiency, security, and customer user experience. Specifically, the FCA will: Prioritize intuitive and user-friendly interfaces to make it easy for customers to understand and use the Transit System. Improve the customer service experience by introducing new customer-facing websites that include self-serve elements where possible, and introducing a multi-channel support system that provides accessible and responsive assistance. Employs robust security measures to protect passengers' payment information and personal data. Utilize an open-architecture that can adapt to emerging technologies and future changes in payment methods, ensuring that the infrastructure remains relevant and effective over time. Account for the potential growth in the number of mobility service providers, users and transactions, ensuring that the FCA can scale efficiently without compromising performance. Enhance and facilitate intermodal and regional interoperability with other transit modes. Support the County’s robust data analysis capabilities for planning purposes and to gain insights into travel patterns, system performance, and revenue collection, facilitating informed decision-making. Reduce costs and complexity for the County on items such as maintenance and reliability. Support current and future fare policy features set by the County and its regional partners, including flat fares, distance-based fares, zone-based fares, time-based transfers, and fare capping.
