NMSU is seeking a qualified Radioactive Waste Broker to manage the transport, treatment, and final disposal of various radioactive wastes generated through its research and academic activities. The Contractor shall provide comprehensive services for Low-Level Radioactive Waste (LLRW), sealed radioactive sources, liquid scintillation vials and fluids, aqueous radioactive liquids, mixed wastes (radioactive waste mixed with hazardous chemical components), and other miscellaneous contaminated wastes. The scope of work includes coordinating all aspects of waste management – from on-site pickup and packaging through transportation, treatment (if required), and disposal – in full compliance with applicable regulations. Additionally, waste collection under this contract will occur at two NMSU locations: the main campus in Las Cruces, NM (at a central collection point) and the Carlsbad Environmental Monitoring & Research Center (CEMRC) in Carlsbad, NM, both of which must be serviced by the Contractor.
