Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of North Charleston, in collaboration with the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), is seeking qualified Design-Build (DB) teams to design, construct, and furnish a new Community Center, pocket parks, and other outdoor amenities. This initiative is part of the broader Lowcountry Corridor West project, aimed at mitigating the impacts of the I-526 widening project, scheduled to commence in 2029. The new community center will replace the existing Russeldale and Highland Terrace/Liberty Park Community Centers, which will be demolished to facilitate the widening of Interstate 526. This project is a component of addressing the displacement and disruption caused by the road widening project through thoughtful planning and resource allocation. The new Community Center will be located at 5260 Deacon Street, North Charleston, SC 29418.
