RLOA is seeking a South Carolina Licensed Physical Therapist to accurately assess and provide treatment to identified students with disabilities in an effort to reach maximum academic potential of each student. Ability to interact with students, staff and parents. Ability to maintain accurate files for progress reporting and IEP development. The South Carolina Licensed Physical Therapist would work on a contracted basis, and could be expected to provide up to 10 hours per week of service during the school year. South Carolina Licensed Physical Therapist will provide the following scope of services: Essential Functions: ● Evaluate and assess each referred student. ● Develop a plan of treatment based on the assessment. ● Interact with teachers in: developing therapy schedules; following treatment strategies and activities in the classroom; and handling and positioning of the child. ● Interact with parents concerning student progress. ● Provide in-service to teachers and parents to ensure treatment carry-over, in-services for proper biomechanical process during the handling and transferring of students. ● Maintain accurate files for progress reporting and IEP development. ● Attend IEP meetings to correlate a total treatment package for each student. QUALIFICATIONS: ● BA or MA degree in physical therapy from an accredited program. ● Currently licensed and /or eligible for licensure from the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, South Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners. ● Experience working with school age children preferred. ● Bilingual skills preferred.
