Duties of the Special Education Teacher position: The Special Education Teacher will provide special education services in accordance with New York State and Federal Education Department regulations. This will include: 1. Provides the continuum of services according to each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). 2. Provides any and all modifications as outlined in students’ 504 plans, which are plans for a student to receive needed accommodations. 3. Provides classroom support for the other educators in the classroom as required by the student’s IEP’s/504 plans. 4. Maintains all appropriate logs. 5. Maintains Consultant Log for each assigned student with an IEP. 6. Create referrals, as needed, for all Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings, Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA’s), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP’s) or Initial Referral for CSE meetings, and other referrals requiring special education input.
