1) Chassis a) Fire Engines shall be a Pumper Style Type I Fire Engine rating. b) Model year ranging from no more than twenty (20) years old. i. Choice 1: five (5) years or newer; OR ii. Choice 2: more than five (5) to less than ten (10) years old; OR iii. Choice 3: more than ten (10) to less than twenty (20) years old. 2) Pump Controls Fire pump shall have the following pressure control devised for fire fighter safety: a) Choice 1: electronic pump controls; OR b) Choice 2: mechanical pressure control governor. 3) Fire Pump All rental Type I Fire Engines shall have a mid-ship style single stage fire pump. Pump shall be rated at a minimum of 1,500 gallons per minute (GPM) or greater. 4) Plumbing Vehicle shall have plumbing caps on all intakes and discharges. Tethers on caps shall be in good working order; not broken, missing, or hanging disconnected at acceptance inspection. 5) Rear of Fire Apparatus Quantity of one (1) two-and-one-half inch (2-½”) discharge at rear of fire engine.
