The scope of this project is a partial rebuild (loop-in, loop-out) of the existing Shiloh to McCree 138kV Transmission line. The rebuild begins at the existing SHMC-20 transmission line structure and ends at the Oakland Substation. This scope includes both Transmission and Distribution assets. The transmission scope includes installing seven (7) steel singlecircuit full tension deadend structures, seven (7) steel singlecircuit line tangent structures and one (1) steel double-circuit line tangent/suspension structure. The deadend structures will utilize full length anchor bolts on drilled shaft foundations and direct embedded for the suspension structures, except for Shiloh-T2 and McCree-T1 which will utilize full length anchor bolts on drilled shaft foundations. The new standard 48 count fiber OPGW shall be installed from Oakland Substation up toward the new Shiloh SH1 and McCree SH1 structures, which will replace the existing SHMC-20 structure. The existing fiber ahead and back of new structures Shiloh SH1 and McCree SH1 shall remain and shall be transferred onto these new structures. New 3/8” OHGW to be installed from Shiloh T5 and McCree T5 to their respective terminal structures. The new transmission line structures were designed to support 1926.9 ACSS “Cumberland”, which will be installed. This project will also have a distribution component that is a requirement to be completed by the contractor. The distribution includes installing five (5) new wood structures and two (2) new custom steel pole structures. The wood distribution structures will be directly embedded following GP&L standard procedure, the custom steel pole structures will be installed on drilled piers. All new wood pole distribution structures shall be installed with new material as well as the transmission line underbuild portions. The distribution circuit will utilize the new 26-7 ACSR “Hawk” primary conductor and 6-1 ACSR “Penguin” neutral conductor from the new transmission structures Shiloh SH1 and McCree SH1 to the existing distribution structures Shiloh D7 and McCree D7. All existing communication wires shall be transferred and attached to the new distribution and transmission structures.
