The Town of Ayer Department of Public Works (DPW) is requesting proposals from engineering consultants for evaluation of the Ayer Public Water Distribution System and Water Supply Projections. Currently, the Town of Ayer is part of a study for an expansion of the MWRA MetroWest water system. The Town seeks to determine if it meets the criteria for a waiver to have MWRA membership fees waived. The engineering consultant shall provide a comprehensive evaluation, including, but not limited to: assessment of the current Master Plan; development and calibration of the existing water system hydraulic model; and evaluation of connecting the Town’s water distribution system to the proposed expanded MWRA MetroWest water system. After the evaluation is complete, the consultant will write a report documenting their findings. The report shall provide a determination as to whether the Town of Ayer meets the fee waiver for MWRA membership and, if so, recommendations for the next steps, including cost estimates for the membership application process.
