The units will be rebuilt or replaced as described below: 3.6.1 Full Rebuild: Replace all bearings, seals, shims, gaskets, O-rings, internal hardware and all gearing, high speed helical gear, high speed helical pinion and shaft, the output shaft seal journal with sleeves, and include painting (primer as needed and 2 coats of paint) of the unit. The housing and other metal components are to be reused. Any additional repair or parts needed, upon verification and approval by CCMUA, will be paid for, as described, from the miscellaneous allowance and hourly wage bid items. 3.6.2 Replacement: In addition to the rebuild options, the bidder shall submit a price for a new replacement gearbox and motor. This replacement gearbox shall utilize the existing bolt pattern and coupling arrangement without any modifications to the existing support structure and shall be a “drop-in” replacement. The new replacement gearbox shall meet or exceed the existing gearbox bearing life and service factor.
