The University will grant the successful Contractor the exclusive rights to install and maintain networked point of purchase clothes washing and drying machines in facilities operated and managed by Student Housing. Exact equipment quantities and installation locations are designated by the University and are shown in Exhibit C. The successful Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, transportation, and equipment for the furnishing, installation and maintenance of the washing and drying machines (“equipment”). Laundry facilities are generally available to patrons 24 hours a day while buildings are in use. Use of Student Housing buildings and laundry facilities may be significantly reduced during quarter breaks and summer sessions. During the potential term of this contract, Student Housing may build an open additional residence building(s) and may close some existing buildings. In this case, all new residence halls and apartments are expected to include laundry facilities comparable to those in existing buildings and with similar proportions of residents to laundry equipment. Contractor will be expected to install and maintain Energy Star Rated clothes washers and dryers of the specified types in new facilities, and to remove or relocate its equipment from buildings scheduled for closure, at the direction of the University. B. Minimum Equipment Requirements 1. Washers: Washers furnished for this contract shall be Speed Queen Quantum or Equivalent front-loading, front control, stackable and non-stackable; commercial clothes washers with an "at the machine payment system" also known as "direct payment system'' card technology at all locations (see Exhibit C for details). 2. Dryers: Dryers furnished for this contract shall be Speed Queen Quantum front loading or Equivalent, front control, stackable and non-stackable, commercial clothes dryers with an "at the machine payment system" also known as "direct payment system" card technology and have multiple temperature/cycle selections for all types of fabrics and permanent-press clothing to be used in all areas of Campus. 3. Courtesy washers and dryers: Contractor, at no cost to the University, shall provide two (2) new big load 351b front load washers and two (2) new 501b electric dryers.
