The work to be performed under this contract consists of the following items of work and as further described in the solicitation documents: The City of Millbrae is seeking bids to rehabilitate the interior of the 500,000-gallon La Prenda Tank in Zone 2 for temporary potable water service. The steel tank is currently offline due to its inability to retain chlorine. The work shall include furnishing and installing an interior lining system that meets NSF 61 requirements and conforms to either AWWA D102 (coating systems for steel water storage tanks) or AWWA D130 (geomembrane liner systems for potable applications). Bidders may propose either method. Under AWWA D102, work may include surface preparation by sandblasting, coating application (primer, intermediate coat as needed, and topcoat), and curing. Under AWWA D130, work may include interior cleaning, pipe disconnection/reconnection (to be performed by the City), and installation of a custom-fabricated geomembrane liner with welded seams. Final installation shall ensure water quality compatibility and structural integrity. The selected system must provide a minimum service life of 5 years. Note: For the playground equipment and area, the Contractor is required to use the subcontractor identified on the Plans.
