• Service 1): The vendor is to place two (2) containment booms on the first day of each season in each of the five participating municipalities • Booms must be properly anchored, and strategically installed in locations that effectively catch floatable trash and debris floating downstream. • Vendor is to observe the activity in the booms and relocate them as needed to effectively capture debris from the river. • All booms must be clearly marked and must meet all applicable Coast Guard and Commonwealth of Massachusetts requirements. • (Service 2): The Vendor is to check the booms at least once per month. When the booms are determined to be full, they will be emptied using Vendor equipment. • In addition to debris and trash captured by the containment booms, the Vendor is to also remove debris captured other hazards, as observed. • Proper disposal of waste will be provided through in-kind contributions from municipal DPW staff. o All removed trash and debris must be responsibly disposed of per municipal and State guidelines. All recyclable materials must be recycled o The Vendor will provide monthly reports on booms and collected debris, which will detail the dates, times, container volume, weight, and description of total debris removed from booms. • (Service 3): At the end of each season on November 1st, booms must be removed from the river by the Vendor and will be stored by the municipality until the start of the following season. • Trash and debris may consist of but is not limited to: o Recyclable trash and debris such as bottles and cans o Non-recyclable trash and debris such as Styrofoam, plastic litter, and clothing o Other floating solid waste captured by the containment booms
