This work shall consist of the removal of hot-mix HMA surfaces in preparation for subsequent resurfacing at locations shown in the plans and as directed by the Engineer. This work shall be performed in accordance with applicable portions of Section 440 of the Standard Specifications and the following additional requirements. The intent of HMA surface removal, variable depth on this project is to remove a portion of the existing HMA layers to coincide with the proposed profile grade line and HMA overlay. The typical cross sections and plan sheets, show expected milling depths and cross slopes to achieve this result. The Engineer will monitor the milling and adjust the milling scheme as necessary to provide the closest possible match to the intended results.
