a. The mix type shall be 12.5AL, or 9.5AL, as indicated below. The rate of application shall be 1 1/2”, unless shown otherwise. b. The asphalt shall weigh 115 pounds/square yard/square inch (thickness) of application or per recommended VDOT Specification. c. The unit bid will be per ton. d. Overlays in excess of 230 lbs/S.Y. or a milled depth greater than 2 inches shall be squared up at the completion of each day’s work. e. The milled roadway areas that are opened to traffic prior to placement of an asphalt concrete overlay, excluding curb and gutter sections, shall have drainage outlets cut through the shoulder at locations designated by the Town. The contractor shall plan and execute the milling operation to avoid the trapping of water on the roadway. Drainage outlets shall be restored to original grade, unless otherwise directed by the Town. All cost for cutting and restoring the drainage slots in the roadway shoulder shall be included in the price bid for other items of work.
