1.1. The County of San Diego, Department of Environmental Health and Quality (DEHQ), Hazardous Incident Response Team (HIRT), requires hands free like voice communication systems and Bluetooth lapel speaker/Push to Talk (PTT) microphones that can act as extensions to existing portable radios, and are compatible with the HIRT team’s current equipment and existing local agency equipment to promote seamless interoperability in response to joint chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, explosive (CBRNE) response operations. 2. Known Local Agency Current Equipment: 2.1. Motorola APX series handheld field radios 3. HIRT Current Equipment: 3.1. 3M Scott AV-3000 series facepieces 4. Specifications Requirements or County Approved Equivalent: 4.1. Voice communication systems should meet or exceed the salient characteristics of equipment, known under the brand name of – 3M Scott Epic 3 RDI a.k.a. 201276-12 or County approved equivalent. 4.2. Bluetooth lapel speaker/PTT microphones should meet or exceed the salient characteristics of equipment, known under the brand name of – 3M Scott Epic 3 Bluetooth Lapel Speaker Microphone a.k.a. 201277-06 or County approved equivalent. 5. Compatibility Requirements: 5.1. 3M Scott Epic 3 RDI or County approved equivalent voice communication system: 5.1.1. Compatible and connects with 3M Scott AV-3000 series facepieces. 5.1.2. Ability to connect/pair with Motorola APX series handheld field radios. 5.2. 3M Scott Epic 3 Bluetooth Lapel Speaker/PTT Microphone or County approved equivalent lapel speaker microphones: 5.2.1. Compatible with proposed voice communication system. 5.2.2. Compatible with Motorola APX series radios.
