WORK AREA #1: OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE (O&M) CLEAN-UP – BOILER ROOM HALLWAY Remove and properly dispose of all ceiling tiles in which exist within the boiler room hallway and dispose of as asbestos-containing The asbestos O&M work in these areas shall be accomplished utilizing a Modified Localized Isolation Containment consisting of critical barriers on all windows, HVAC diffusers, doors, entryways, etc., negative air filtration, with negative air filtration, OSHA approved PPE and personnel decontamination facility. Approximate quantities of asbestos containing materials identified in these areas are as follows: Work Area #1 – Boiler Room Hallway approximately 1,200 SF of ceiling tiles The ceiling tiles are not an asbestos-containing material but there may be residual asbestos dust from plaster walls and ceilings. Contractor is responsible for removing all ceiling tiles and gridwork from the Hallway outside Boiler Room. All ceiling tiles shall be sealed in two (2) 6 mil asbestos bags and disposed of as asbestos waste. Ceiling grid work shall be HEPA vacuumed and wet wiped and disposed of as construction waste.
