3.1 Provide spatially referenced user data based on scope of work below for analysis of the Black Hills snowmobile trail system use. At minimum, data for at least 2 South Dakota snowmobile seasons should be provided. The snowmobile season starts on December 15th and ends on March 31st each year. 3.2 Preferred seasons to be analyzed in ranking order: (1)2022-23, (2)2019-20, (3)2023-24, (4)2024-25, (5)2020-21 3.3 Provide use patterns on the 350-mile trail system based on shape files provided by GFP. 3.3.1 Designated trailheads and parking lots are also to be assessed. 3.4 Provide data on how much total miles traveled on specific trail segments designated by GFP along with total miles traveled per sled during a typical day and weekend trip. 3.5 Determine total volume of Resident snowmobiles visiting the Black Hills during: - Weekdays (designated by GFP) - Weekends (designated by GFP) - Holiday Weekends (designated by GFP) - Total use season for each season from December 15th through March 31st 3.6 Determine total volume of Non-Resident snowmobiles visiting the BH during: - Weekdays (designated by GFP) - Weekends (designated by GFP) - Holiday weekends (designated by GFP) - Total use season for each season from December 15th through March 31st 3.7 Determine total number of unique Resident sleds during the season - Weekdays (designated by GFP) - Weekends (designated by GFP) - Holiday weekends (designated by GFP) - Total use season for each season from December 15th through March 31st 3.8 Determine total number of unique Non-Resident sleds during the season - Weekdays (designated by GFP) - Weekends (designated by GFP) - Holiday Weekends (designated by GFP) - Total use season for each season from December 15th through March 31st 3.9 Provide data which has been “screened” which will ensure all eligible snowmobile use is extracted from other potentially unrelated data that might exist within and adjacent to the Black Hills trail system area. This screening will ensure the snowmobile use estimation model will include snowmobile use only. 3.10 Compare and calibrate data provided by GFP staff through TRAFX trail counters. 3.11 Provide a written report of findings 3.12 Provide an Excel file with estimation model 3.13 Provide an estimate for optional add-on - interactive dashboard that will allow GFP ability to analyze the data in other ways in the future.
