The Department of Public Works has the occasion to need poured in place concrete for the construction of sidewalk panels, foundation pads, etc. Therefore, there is a need for a vendor to deliver mixed concrete to the site where the DPW is engaged in work. Concrete used for this purpose shall be mixed in accordance with NY state specifications, and shall have a minimum twenty-eight-day compressive strength of four thousand (4,000) pounds per square inch. In accordance with this bid, the vendor shall provide, deliver and pour liquid concrete mix at the job site. The price quoted shall include manufacture, transport, delivery and pouring by the vendor to the job sites located within the town of Bedford. This type of concrete is typically used by the BDPW to replace sidewalk panels and driveway aprons within the town right of way. The Town will excavate and form up, the work site prior to the arrival of the concrete delivery vehicle. After the vendor pours the concrete, BDPW employees will subsequently screed, broom, etc. the concrete. There will be a 3 cubic yard minimum drop. All concrete shall have an air entrainment conforming to ASTM requirements of the latest revision. The air-entraining admixture used shall be one approved by the New York State Department of Public Works and must also be approved by the Commissioner of Public Works
