Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. The ND Wheat Commission plans to contract with the U.S. Wheat Associates for the purpose of establishing, increasing and encouraging the consumption, utilization and sale of U.S. and ND wheat in foreign and domestic markets through trade servicing activities, technical assistance to purchasers, processors and end users; market and industry information and analysis; and consumer promotion. The ND Wheat Commission plans to contract with the Wheat Foods Council to develop sound educational and promotional nutrition programs that reach health and nutrition professionals, opinion leaders, media, and consumers assisting the ND Wheat Commission with state promotion and education to consumers and health professionals on wheat and grain products. Justification: Program areas and activities within the contract are specific to being carried out by associations representing producers of wheat products in accordance with N.D.C.C. chapter 4.1-13. At this time, the ND Wheat Commission is only aware of the two (2) Intended Sources with the ability to adequately represent the regions wheat producers in the areas of education, research, government education, nutrition, health, marketing and international marketing.
