1. RECYCLING AND WASTE REDUCTION Develop classroom instructional programs and assembly presentations focusing on recycling, reducing waste and stopping pollution. Curriculum will include waste reduction at both home and school, and will stress the importance of food waste reduction and composting. Curricula and presentations will expand to include broader topics in waste reduction and pollution as appropriate for various grade levels. In cooperation with County Staff, GreenWaste Recovery and the Green Business Program, contractor will work with school and district staff to improve waste reduction efforts. 2. Litter, Marine Debris, and Beach or Waterway Cleanup Events This component is intended to include programs within the County of Santa Cruz on: litter; plastics; plastic bags; cigarette butts; marine debris; clean beaches; beach, river, and creek cleanups; etc. Consultants may submit a proposal for all programs including: Education and prevention programs and litter and debris removal programs.
