● Operations ○ Operate the wastewater treatment plant on a daily basis, including controlling plant processes, managing equipment and pump station, and ensuring optimal performance of the plant’s systems. ○ Monitor and maintain water quality levels in compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines. ○ Perform routine sampling and analysis of wastewater influent, effluent, and other systems to ensure compliance with discharge permits. ● Maintenance ○ Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on plant equipment, machinery, and systems, including pumps (system-wide and individual), motors, chemical feeders, and other related infrastructure. ○ Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair malfunctioning systems or equipment. ○ Maintain a parts inventory for the treatment plant and recommend necessary equipment replacements. ● Recordkeeping and Reporting ○ Maintain accurate records of all operations, maintenance, inspections, and compliance activities. ○ Submit required reports to the State of Vermont and other regulatory bodies to ensure that all discharge permits are met. ○ Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual reports summarizing plant performance, issues, and corrective actions taken; attend or provide information for monthly Wastewater Commission meetings (second Monday of every month). ● Compliance ○ Ensure that the WWTP complies with all applicable regulations, including environmental standards, safety, and health guidelines. ○ Implement emergency response plans in the event of system failures, overflows, or other emergencies.
