Power Washing The bidder shall use professional grade power washing equipment with adjustable pressure setting to avoid damaging the brick and mortar. The bidder shall thoroughly clean all accessible brick surfaces to remove dirt, dust, mildew, algae, and other surface contaminants. The cleaning process shall ensure a uniform streak-free finish across all treated brick surfaces. The bidder shall take necessary precautions to protect windows, doors, landscaping, and other nonbrick surfaces from water damage during the power washing process. Including but not limited to covering or masking sensitive areas. All wastewater generated during the power washing process shall be managed responsibly and in accordance with local environmental regulations. The Bidder is responsible for proper containment and disposal. Plant Growth Removal Plant growth shall be removed entirely, including all visible unwanted plant growth (e.g., vines, moss, weeds) from the brick surfaces, mortar joints, and any adjacent areas (e.g., window frames, sills) as specified. The bidder shall employ methods that minimize damage to the mortar joints for deeply rooted plants. This may include careful manual removal followed by cleaning. The use of harsh chemicals for plant removal is discouraged unless specifically approved by the City in writing, and only if they will not negatively impact the brick or surrounding environment. Preference should be given to manual or mechanical removal where feasible. All removed plant debris shall be properly collected and disposed of off-site by the bidder. Graffiti Removal The bidder shall employ appropriate graffiti removal techniques and cleaning agents specifically designed for brick surfaces. The chosen method must effectively remove the graffiti without leaving shadows, ghosting, or damaging the brick or mortar.
