CONDITIONS: The pipe joint upstream of drainage structure #163 has separated. The pipe is 36-inch RCP. The drainage structure is a circular manhole. The leakage at the joint has resulted in the washout of the soil around the pipe, the drainage structure, and the soil over the pipe section that outlets to the creek. REPAIR WORK PLAN: Access to the site will be from Bluebell Way, down the power line ROW, then through the woods to the site. Remove drainage structure #163, the first section of pipe upstream from drainage structure #163, and the outlet pipe from the drainage structure. Replace drainage structure #163 with a minimum 5’ by 3’ rectangular junction box with a manhole opening. Backfill and reestablish grade over the inlet pipe and around the junction box. Relay the outlet pipe from the junction box. Relay the entire length of the outlet pipe. Backfill and reestablish the grade in the area that has been washed out. Rip-rap the new outlet channel with fabric underlayment. Seed and stabilize all disturbed areas. Mulch placed on designated areas, and seed placed on other areas of the access road. Mulch to be provided by the City.
