Type 1: Miscellaneous Loose Items Packed by Library Staff in Bins 1. Bins are to be delivered to the library a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the planned moving start date. 2. Minimum size is 18" x 18" x 24" 3. An estimated quantity of 150 bins is required. 4. Bins will be packed by the library staff and marked with destination for each bin. An inventory of bins needed for these loose items in provided as Attachment 4. 5. Bins will contain items such as miscellaneous loose items, files, desk and office materials. Type 2: Furniture, Library Files & Equipment, and Miscellaneous Items 1. All items are be protected and moved by the selected moving company. 2. Any items which require disassembly must be reassembled at the final location. 3. Library staff will confirm the final location for all items. 4. An inventory of existing library furniture and other items that cannot be placed in bins is provided as Attachment 5. This inventory identifies the current locations of these items and their planned destinations. These items will be labeled in advance by library staff. This list is not guaranteed to include every item to be moved and there may be some miscellaneous items that are not listed. Type 3: General Collections Books/AV & Stacks An approximate inventory of the library’s general book and AV materials collections follows: Adult books 72,000 Adult AV 12,000 ESL items 1,300 YA items 4,000 Reference items 30 Kids books 28,000 Kids AV 2,000 The selected mover shall provide library staff with as many bins as are necessary to accommodate the library’s general collection and library staff will pack these bins and label them by final location. The bins are to be moved to their final location with reshelving by library staff. Note, not all of the library’s adult book collection will fit at 101 University Drive and the Town Controlled off-site locations, so an estimated 15,000 books will be packed by library staff in cardboard bankers boxes furnished by the selected mover and moved to general storage at the Five College Book Repository for up to two years. Existing stacks and shelving shall be moved to the temporary library location shown on Attachments 2 and with the excess to be moved to one or more Town controlled locations in Amherst, with disassembly and reassembly as required. Note, not all existing stacks and shelving are anticipated to be needed at these two locations. Excess materials are to be disassembled and moved to the general storage location for future reuse by the library. A general inventory of existing shelving and stacks is provided in Attachment 6 along with moving destination. This inventory includes stacks for both general collections and special collections items.
