The Bid Proposal Form includes three (3) Bid Items. Bid Item - 1: Waste collection at Middle and High Schools, Southeast Technical College, Instructional Planning Center, Central Services Center and all Elementary Schools throughout the District. Bid Item - 1 utilizes Vendor provided containers and required pickups as outlined in attached spreadsheet, Garbage Service – Bid Item 1, dated May 1, 2025. Unit Price 1-A: Sets forth the price for additional 4 yd dumpster pickups at schools on an irregular basis. The contractor will be notified by telephone the day before the pickup is to be made. Unit Price 1-B: Sets forth the price for servicing 4 vendor provided 6 yd dumpsters at Howard Wood Field on an irregular basis. The contractor will be notified by telephone the day before the pickup is to be made. Pickups will generally be required from September through November, and March through May. Unit Price 1-C: Sets forth the price of servicing a vendor provided 20-yard construction dumpster on a permanent basis at 1101 North Western Avenue. The contractor will be notified by telephone when pulls are to be made. Dump weight fees will be reimbursed each time a pull is made. Bid Item 2: Single Steam collection of recyclable mixed paper, cardboard, tin, plastic and aluminum from all High Schools, Middle Schools, Elementary Schools, Central Services, Instructional Planning Center, Howard Wood Field and Southeast Technical Institute. Bid Item 2 utilizes Vendor provided containers and required pickups as outlined in attached spreadsheet Recycling Service – Bid Item 2, dated May 1, 2025. Unit Price 2-A: Sets forth the price for additional pickups at schools on an irregular basis. The contractor will be notified by telephone the day before the pickup is to be made. Recyclables, the contractor shall indicate in the space provided on the bid form reimbursement rate/amount and manner of payment for mixed paper, cardboard, tin, plastic and aluminum. Bid Item 3: Addresses pulling and emptying twenty (20) cubic yard compactors at four locations, at the Food Service Center, 1101 North Western Avenue; Roosevelt High School, 6600 West 41st Street; Washington High School, 501 North Sycamore and Jefferson High School, 1600 N Marion Road. These must be emptied on a "per call" basis as the service is needed. Interested bidders should indicate their rate "per pull" on the bid proposal form in the space provided. Bidders are responsible for being familiar with the location and operating instructions and procedures for each compactor before bids are submitted. The contractor will be notified by telephone when pulls are to be made. The contractor(s) will also be reimbursed for disposal fees. All reimbursed fees shall be at the rates established by the City of Sioux Falls. Disposal fees and weights will be subject to verification by scale ticket and the perjury statement on the claim will be submitted with the monthly invoice. Bidders may submit bids on any or all of the Items. Bids shall be based on the structure set forth on the Bid Proposal Form. At locations listed, bids shall be based on the rate of one (1) to five (5) pickups per week as listed on the respective spreadsheet summaries attached. Actual charges will be prorated to a rate per day, per container basis. Charges for "Extra Pickups" will be permitted only if extra pickup service is requested by Operational Services. An additional charge not to exceed fifty percent (50%) of rates per container, per stop, will be permitted at those locations, which have an overflow of waste or recycling material on the ground beside the container, which is less than the equivalent of an additional full container. The School District reserves the right to verify such a charge with the custodian at the relevant location. The School District reserves the right to correct extended prices and change the bid tabulation to reflect these corrections. Bid Item 1 sets forth the percentage of the total bid price, the bidder has to pay in disposal fees to the relevant dumping facility. Bid Item 1 sets forth an estimated tonnage used in the bid price which will be collected from the various locations set forth in the Bid Proposal Form and disposed of at the relevant dumping facility in the first year of the contract, 2025- 2026.
