General Design & Capacity • Electrically powered ambulance cot with battery-powered raise/lower functions. • Minimum patient weight capacity: 700 lbs. • Cot weight (unloaded): ≤150 lbs. • Adjustable load height to accommodate a range of ambulance deck heights (26" to 36" minimum). • Designed for one-person operation for loading and unloading. Mobility and Maneuverability • Integrated power-assisted wheeled steering system to support ease of maneuvering and directional tracking. • Four-wheel independent suspension or similar system to absorb shock and ensure stability on uneven surfaces. • Rear wheels: Minimum 6-inch diameter, made from non-marking, high-durability rubber or composite material. • Front wheels: Minimum 6-inch diameter, must be swivel-style with lockable directional tracking. • Wheels must be sealed or enclosed to prevent debris accumulation and reduce maintenance needs. • Cot must be stable and maneuverable with a full patient load, including in confined or inclined environments. Controls and Interface • Operator controls must be ergonomically positioned, and allow one-touch operation for lifting, lowering, loading, and unloading. • Controls should include status indicators for battery level, operational alerts, and error diagnostics (audible and/or visual). Battery and Power • Rechargeable battery-powered lift system capable of minimum 60 full lift/lower cycles per full charge under load. • Quick-swap battery system, removable without tools, with backup battery recommended. • Includes AC charger and in-vehicle charging dock (or compatible charging option). Safety and Restraint Systems • Built-in restraint system with minimum three patient restraint points (shoulder, chest, and leg). • Color-coded lock indicators or equivalent system to visually confirm wheel, frame, and height locks. • Integrated braking system at the foot end with multiple lock positions and antiroll safeguards. Construction and Durability • Constructed from lightweight, corrosion-resistant material such as aluminum alloy. • Includes mattress with minimum 2-inch thickness, covered in fluid-resistant, cleanable material. • Must meet or exceed applicable transport safety and crash standards (e.g., SAE J3027 or equivalent). • Must withstand regular cleaning and disinfection per EMS industry standards. Accessories / Compatibility • Cot must be compatible with power load systems. • Must include self-load track system for cot to fasten with integrated charger. • Must include the following accessories: o Collapsible side rails with surface extender o O2 bottle holder o Color coded retaining straps o Extendable handles o Wheel locks o Spare battery with charger • Must include manual override capability in the event of power failure.
