The FDLE is requesting a sole source posting for the renewal of two (2) different drug libraries that are currently utilized in Seized Drug forensic discipline of FDLE’s five (5) regional Forensic Labs located in Ft. Myers, Jacksonville, Orlando, Pensacola and Tampa. The two (2) different drug libraries, National Institute of Standards and Technology/Environmental Protection Agency/National Institutes of Health (NIST/EPA/NIH) Mass Spectral Library and Mass Spectra of Designer Drugs, assist the Seized Drug forensic disciplines in maintaining their drug databases for Mass Spectra of Designer Drugs. The function of the NIST is to produce the Nation’s Standard Reference Data (SRD). This data is assessed by experts and are trustworthy such that people can use the data with confidence and base significant decisions on the data. SRD must be compliant with rigorous critical evaluation criteria. The reference to NIST means that the standards data in the library complies with standards and rigorous critical evaluation criteria established by referenced organizations. John Wiley and Sons is the exclusive publisher and the only known provider of the aforementioned database libraries.
