2.1 The bike rack shall be in an “inverted U” shape with the following dimensions: 2.1.1 Rack height: 36 inches (from base to top) 2.1.2 Rack width: 18 inches center to center (from the center of one leg to the center of the other leg) 2.2 The bike rack material shall be milled steel round tube or equivalent with the following dimensions: 2.2.1 Tube outer diameter: 2-3/8 inches minimum 2.2.2 Tube thickness: 1/8 inch minimum 2.3 Each end of the bike rack shall have a steel flange, each with at least two bolt holes that are meant for surface mounting the rack with concrete or asphalt anchors. The flange and bolt hole shall have the following dimensions: 2.3.1 Flange radius: at minimum 1-1/2 inch wider than the bike rack tube 2.3.2 Bolt hole radius: 9/16 inch 2.4 The bike rack shall be available in the following finishes that are resistant to chipping: 2.4.1 Galvanized steel 2.4.2 Black powder coat 2.5 All parts of the rack shall be securely welded together to prevent any theft by breaking off flanges. 2.6 The City shall provide installation hardware, such as anchors. 2.7 Bike Rack shall be installed by the City.
