The County of Marin is inviting qualified engineering firms to submit a statement of qualifications (SOQ) to provide project design and management, engineering staff augmentation and drafting services to support the Department of Public Works. The Engineering Division will select two or more firms with which to execute a Professional Services contract for “on-call” work. Tasks have the potential to cover a wide range of engineering services which will support specific design and construction projects, grant-funded projects, grant applications, and miscellaneous engineering related tasks. The work to be performed may include, but is not limited to, any or all of the following: 1. Initial project planning, including identifying key milestones, scope description and design delivery schedule; 2. Assisting County staff with project documentation for Division Manager, Department Head and Board of Supervisors approval; 3. Preparation of technical specifications using the County’s style and formatting; 4. Preparation of plans using the County’s CAD standards and template; 5. Bid support and construction administration; 6. Preparation of Local Assistance Procedures Manual (LAPM) Exhibits for federally funded projects; 7. Solicitation and management of DBE subconsultants to satisfy LAPM requirements; 8. Solicitation and management of subconsultants and vendors needed to support design (material testing, potholing, bores, geotechnical, etc.); 9. Pavement design; 10. Road modifications and improvements; 11. Design of piers, footings, retaining walls or other structures; 12. Drainage design; 13. Erosion control design; 14. Any other related engineering and drafting services
