All tires shall be of quality not less than the tires normally furnished in representative quantities by Original Equipment Manufacturers as original equipment for automobiles, trucks, tractors, and buses. Tires supplied must be marked with “DOT” (Department of Transportation) compliance symbol. Tires shall conform to all applicable Federal specifications. All tires must be NEW, must have been produced or manufactured within the last one (1) year prior to delivery, and must be of the make, model, and tire design as specified in the bid specifications. No substitutions or deviations will be accepted, unless approved by the district prior to bid submission. All tires must have the size including load range, manufacturer’s name and DOT number, serial number and indication of body material molded in sidewall at time of cure. The application of any of the above by any other means such as branding, application of decals, etc. will not be acceptable. Tires offered must have been tested to meet or exceed ASTM (American Society of Testing and Materials) Standard F1922 for highway tires, F1923 for Off Road/Low Speed tires and meet operational performance levels and marking requirements of Federal Standards FMVSS 109 for pneumatic passenger tires and FMVSS 119 for non-pneumatic non-passenger MPVs, including trucks, buses, and trailers.
