The Contractor must provide mentoring services to biological parents of children who have been removed or at risk of being removed by the child protection system based upon the parent preference and need. The Contractor must ensure that the services: 1. Strengthen parenting skills and promote positive relationships demonstrated by a skills class or program materials provided by the Contractor, and/or used in the discussion between mentors and clients reported within the monthly invoice; 2. Address barriers to reunification, including mental health, substance use, housing, and employment challenges; 3. Provide emotional support to parents as they navigate the child protection system; 4. Educate parents about child safety, development, and well-being; 5. Provide access to community resources and support services; and 6. Support and foster a good working relationship with their social worker. The Contractor must coordinate with the Department’s Deputy Division Administrator of YSP (Youth Service Program) and/or the program Contract Monitor.
